Bars

From seedy smoking lounges to sloane-invested grog holes. And here's a guide that will be gradually updated and added to...

Boom Bar

Just up from sloansville and in the heart of sloansville you find the Boom Bar, owned by David Lawrence. It has arty decor and averagely high bar prices, but a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant at the back provides punters with relativelely cheap and tasty food, whilst the main bulk of the bar is usually busy every night. Find Dugdugi here on Mondays!

Cafe Blue

Rumours have it that this will soon become a club, which will please their neighbours, the police. Holds a variety of clubish and pre-club nights, sometimes with a tariff on the door. Sutra and Diva are the regular nights.

Bar Excellence

Newly renovated, Bar Excellence has resident DJs, who play a variety of house, house and house. Situated just off Corn Street, with average Bar prices and spacious seating.

Edwards

The Edwards chain's Bristol branch has a cosy inside and sees occassional guest DJs such as James Savage. Nice food and quite cheap. Find it at the bottom of Corn Street. Average bar prices.

Bar Humbug

Right next door to Henry J Beans is Bar Humbug, a small and unpretencious bar with a restaurant as well. The bar is small, only holding about 50 people, however it makes a good watering hole for an after-work drink, or perhaps a pre-club venue (if Whiteladies Road's Kickers is your thing).
